Jesus has authority to rescue.

Jesus demonstrates his authority over spiritual powers by casting demons out of two men. Jesus’ authority is not contested, as the demons themselves ask to be sent into a herd of pigs. They understand who Jesus is and fear being punished before the appointed time. When Jesus stands against evil, the evil force has no power.
